Taiwan Circular Economy Network became the first signatory of New Plastics Economy Global Commitment
Facing the global crisis of plastic pollution, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the United Nations Environment Programme proposed the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment in 2018. More than 400 governments, financial institutions, academic research institutes, NGOs, and international companies including Unilever, Coca-Cola, Nestle, and Carrefour, have signed the commitment and promised to take specific actions.
Taiwan Circular Economy Network became the first signatory in Taiwan in September 2019. Taiwan has not only a mature recycling system, but also many innovative business models and solutions. We believe that Taiwan has potential to become a leader in the new plastics economy, and are pleased to see more people join us in the future. To raise the awareness of such issue, we have translated the "New Plastics Economy Global Commitment" into Chinese. Click here to download the file.
